The Stanley Cup trophy is staying in Pittsburgh, thanks to the Penguins' 1-0 victory over the Predators in last night's Game 6 from Nashville. They added an empty-net goal with 13.6 seconds left to win the game 2-0.

It's the fifth Stanley Cup for the Penguins, who have won all of their clinchers on the road. Captain Sidney Crosby came away with the Conn Smythe Trophy as the playoff MVP after finishing with 27 points.

"The biggest thing we got to take from this is to remember the feeling". The Predators appeared to score a goal early in the second period, but referees waved it off.

Forget a golden anniversary: The Penguins will cap their 50th season with their names on the most famous silver cup in sports - again. He won cups with the Red Wings in 1950, 1952, 1954 and 1955.

"I would have to believe that with what Sid has been able to accomplish in his career to this point would put him in the company of the all-time greats", said Penguins coach Mike Sullivan.

The loss ended the upstart Predators' deepest playoff run in the franchise's 19-year history and one that became the talk of the town far beyond Music City, catfish and all. Instead of starting a new Stanley Cup, they chose to replace rings about every 13 years.

According to league official rules, members of the winning team are allotted 100 off-season days, including the team's parade, sponsors, and a day or so with each player and the team's staff, with the Stanley Cup to do with it as they wish. Nashville made the playoffs as the 16th-best team in the regular season before knocking off Chicago, St. Louis and Anaheim.
