Indian Army has claimed that Pakistani troops killed two Indian soldiers in a surgical strike along the Line of Control (LoC), reported Nawa-e-Waqt.

Pakistan resorted to unprovoked indiscriminate firing from small arms automatics and shelled mortars.

Meanwhile, the Army during search and sanitation operations, recovered the body of a member of the Pakistan's BAT team, killed along LoC in Gulpur sector of Poonch district on Friday.

According to Indian media, two Indian soldiers were killed, named Jadhav Sandip and Mane Savan Balku.

These violations came just days after an attack by a Pakistan special forces team that sneaked across the LoC into Poonch under cover of heavy fire and killed two jawans. The ambush, carried out by a suspected Pakistan border action team in the midst of intense mortar and small arms exchanges that raged through the day, targeted a patrol operating near Gurunj Post, close to the village of Khari Karmara. A jawan was injured in back-to-back ceasefire violations by the Pakistani Army on Sunday.

The Indian troops returned the fire "strongly and effectively", he said.

There have been 20 ceasefire violations along the LoC and the International Border in Jammu region so far in June.

Hours ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and United States president Donald Trump meeting, the Pakistani troops on Monday violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control in Bhimbher Gali sector in Jammu and Kashmir.
