Why We Can't Stop Reading Trump Transcripts

While they have not announced a protest in Bedminster, the New Jersey Alliance for Immigrant Justice took the visit as an opportunity to announce opposition to the President's immigration reform bill, the RAISE Act.

Politicians using kids to improve their image is nothing new, but the White House's current technique is gross.

But, more likely, the leak is a thinly veiled cry for help either from someone who would like to still have a career in government when this is all over, or someone who would like to still have an inhabitable planet when this is all over. The Washington Post published both transcripts in full yesterday, and some said, great journalism. Both documents obtained by The Post contain notes indicating they were reviewed and classified by retired Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg Jr., who serves as chief of staff on the National Security Council. "Then we pay for his golf".

And though Trump has granted some high-profile interviews with outlets like the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal recently, he has done relatively few overall, which means journalists are rarely able to ask him questions on behalf of the public.

Here he is, talking to Mexican president Enrique Pena Nieto about OH, and in the third person, too.

The Americans have, on average, ten days of paid leave per year, according to Fortune magazine. He was running as the anti-Obama, the tough-talking, hard-deal-making business guy who knew how to run things - not the professor-turned-community-organizer who thought more government was the answer to anything and everything.

It reveals that Trump is as bombastic, narcissistic and argumentative on the phone to the leaders of friendly nations as he is on the campaign trail. So they are dancing in the streets.

Also, getting lost once again in the "Russia" panic, as we explained on yesterday's show, there is a good reason Bernie Sanders voted against the bill slapping sanctions against Russia, North Korea and Iran, as approved nearly unanimously in both chambers of Congress, and signed reluctantly by the President on Wednesday. Whatever she may privately believe, she has not publicly made tangible efforts to denounce the murders of transgender women of color, for example, or to fight climate change by supporting the fight against the Dakota Access Pipeline. He warned that "my position has been and will continue to be very firm, saying that Mexico can not pay for the wall".

"No, he's earned it... is a phrase you don't say about Donald Trump!". The press is going to go with that and I can not live with that. I'll be very interested to hear what Attorney General Jeff Sessions has to say.

And we have the drug lords in Mexico that are knocking the hell out of our country. Up in New Hampshire - I won New Hampshire because New Hampshire is a drug-infested den - is coming from the southern border.

TRUMP: I will let Jared Kushner, Wilbur Ross, and all the different people that are involved - Wilbur will be confirmed as Secretary of Commerce any moment now - to get with your team and they can knock something out that will be a fabulous agreement. We can look to Chelsea Manning's disclosure of State Department cables in 2010 for an apt analogy here.

The president spoke at length to his supporters, telling them that detractors are "trying to cheat you out of the leadership you want with a fake story" - Russian meddling in the 2016 election, and the investigations into it - "that is demeaning to all of us".
