Colbert, 'This Week' get Scaramucci interviews

Posted August 11, 2017

That'd be 11:35's go-to Trump deflater Stephen Colbert. ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos tweeted Thursday morning, "I'll sit down live with @Scaramucci for his first interview since being fired from the WH, this Sunday only on [This Week with George Stephanopoulos]".

On Wednesday night, Scaramucci called New Yorker reporter Ryan Lizza the "Linda Tripp of 2017", a reference to the woman who recorded conversations with Monica Lewinsky about Lewinsky's intimate involvement with President Bill Clinton.

The doomed spin doctor called then White House chief of staff Reince Priebus a "paranoid schizophrenic" and made derogatory comments about Steve Bannon, the chief strategist. This is just a heads up for our censors to get ready!

Scaramucci was replaced nearly immediately by former Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly.

Dozens of television interviewers have been vying to interview the man known as "Mooch".

Colbert also lampooned Scaramucci's brief White House stint. "That's not even a whole pay period". Suffice it to say, Colbert is pretty pumped about it.

The other guest on next Monday's "Late Show" is the actor Bob Odenkirk.
