- As a result of brisk ticket sales, Georgia Lottery officials announced Thursday that the Mega Millions estimated jackpot has been bumped from $382 million to $393 million for Friday's drawing.
The prizes are based on winners taking an annuity with the prize money being paid out over 29 years. Lottery officials say this is the first time that the jackpots in Powerball and Mega Millions have simultaneously topped the $300 million mark.

Odds of winning $50,000 playing Powerball are 1 in 913,129.
But the odds of winning both are absolutely staggering: A bit worse than 1 in 75.6 quadrillion, or 1 in 75,648,252,765,957,300 to be precise.
