Posted October 14, 2017

Pricing for the 2018 DB11 Volante starts at $216,495 in the USA, and it should arrive at dealers next Spring.

DB11 Volante development prototypes were put on test in locations including Death Valley and the Arctic Circle.

The Aston Martin DB11 Volante is a drop-top with a V8 leaning instead of a V12.LONDON, Oct 13 -Aston Martin has cut the roof off the DB11 and chopped four cylinders off its engine to create the all-new DB11 Volante, a convertible that it claims has the potential to redefine the open-top sports GT vehicle market. It can be operated at speeds up to 31mph and takes just 14 seconds to open and 16 to close.

Just as we hoped, the sleek styling makes the DB11 Volante one of the sexiest convertibles we've laid our eyes on in a long time.

As of now, the Volante comes with one engine: A 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 from Aston's "technical partner" AMG.

Like the coupe, the V8 unit sends 503 horsepower and 513 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic. A new £159,900 DB11 Volante has been revealed in V8 form.

The stunning drop-top was put through more than 100,000 test cycles in special weather chambers created to simulate the conditions of the harshest environments in the world. It can be operated both from inside the cabin and remotely, from the key fob, and the automaker says that its new folding mechanism makes for a 20-percent larger trunk than the old DB9 Volante this auto replaces. It's also more compact when it's folded, and takes up 20 percent less space in the boot when it's down. And its performance is great too-Aston quotes a 4.1-second 0-62 miles per hour time, and it'll hit 187 miles per hour flat out. Top speed is also identical for both models.

Say hello to the latest evolution of Aston Martin's iconic convertible sports GT. "With the DB11 Volante we have maximized the advantages of the DB11's all-new bonded structure to underpin our new Volante with a structure that's 26kg lighter and 5% stiffer than its predecessor [the DB9 Volante]".

Aston Martin has lifted the lid off its handsome DB11 (last year's 'Design of the Year' victor at the T3 Awards) and, as a result, created the most attractive auto we've ever seen.

Aston Martin has unveiled the attractive 2018 Aston Martin DB11 Volante, which is going to arrive early next year, just in time for the flawless spring weather. From what we can see, Aston Martin has another stunner in its growing line-up.
