Carlos Correa And Daniella Rodriguez: When You Both Get Rings

Posted November 06, 2017

Houston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa pulled off two historic things in one night: He and the Astros won their first World Series and he popped the big question.

What's better than winning the World Series? "Will you marry me?"

"(Winning the World Series) is one of the biggest steps of my life.

"Me and my boyfriend actually camped out since last night we were here like 8:30 or 9 o'clock at night and we camped out", Erika Guajardo, who also brought her younger brother, said.

Carlos Correa has found his (World Series) trophy wife.

During an interview on Today, the 23-year-old and his future bride, Daniella Rodriguez, dished to Carson Daly about how the high-profile proposal came to be.

Congrats to Carlos Correa and Daniella Rodriguez on their engagement.

Producing a ring from his back pocket, Correa turned to his girlfriend and said, "Daniella Rodriguez, will you make me the happiest man in the world?" "And then, he proposes., I just said, 'What a ring!' (laughs) No cheap ring there".

"For me that was plan A, and I'm glad it worked because I didn't have a plan B", he continued. But suppose the Los Angeles Dodgers did win against Correa's team? He'd originally been planning to pop the question after Game 6, but when the Astros lost, he pushed the plans back a day. "It was something that I never imagined him doing, especially there".

"It would have been a good story if I said I had it through the whole game", Correa said. "I was laser-focused on just playing baseball that she would have never thought I was going to propose at that point".

Subtle humble brag, Correa!
