New Orleans coach Alvin Gentry said Davis will undergo an MRI in Portland and will likely not play against the Trail Blazers on Saturday.
New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis was fined $25,000 by the NBA for two technical fouls during Wednesday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, resulting in the first ejection of his professional basketball career.
Davis was injured Friday night early in the fourth quarter of 114-108 loss to the Utah Jazz. He was taken to the locker room on a wheelchair, according to several sources.
Davis left the game and did not return.
Davis has missed plenty of time throughout his career with a multitude of injuries. He's averaging 5.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, 0.8 assists, 0.9 3-pointers, and 0.7 steals in 16 starts this season. The New Orleans Pelicans' superstar suffered a non-contact injury during the team's game against the Utah Jazz, which left him rolling around on the ground in serious pain.
As it turns out, the injury will hold him out for longer than just part of Friday's game.
