Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Is The 2018 CoD Game, Apparently

These reports are not the only ones about Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and its launch this year, as some Cowen & Company analysts also forecasted it that way. Though this week we've now heard two different sources claim that the next Call of Duty game would be Black Ops 4.

The Nintendo Switch port is probably the most interesting aspect of this rumor. For most of the series' life, each new installment has been the best-selling game the year it came out.

Notably, the Eurogamer report was not able to confirm the existence of the Switch port.

The last time we saw Black Ops was in 2015's release of Black Ops 3, so given Activision's three-year development cycle for each of its three Call of Duty studios, a 2018 release for Black Ops 4 makes a lot of sense. For the record, he apparently has a good track record when it comes to unreleased information about the gaming world.

If it does turn out to be Black Ops 4 with the series seeing boots on the ground gameplay, many will likely be pleased. The only difference is that it will take place in the modern era and will have the soldiers fighting on the ground only.

The Switch version will support DLC, HD Rumble, and motion controls. Obviously, he got his data from reliable people in the industry. This last point is something EuroGamer is still trying to verify. The statement is vague on exact details, but confident enough to include the Nintendo Switch in Black Ops 4's list of supported platforms, marking the first Nintendo game the series has seen since Call of Duty: Ghosts.

If this rumor is true, people that are sick of modern day settings in COD games might be disappointed. The fact that Activision would take the time to port it shows just how successful the Nintendo Switch has become in less than a year on the market.
