Samsung Galaxy Note 9 may not come with under-display fingerprint sensor

Samsung's inbound Galaxy S9 will reportedly pinch the Animoji feature from Apple's iPhone X. Apart from these products, Samsung is also working on the successor of the Galaxy Note 8, aka Note 9, which the company may launch this fall.

The fingerprint scanner will also be moved to below the camera after users complained of smudging their camera lens on the Galaxy S8 (the scanner was to the right of the lens). A new report out of Korea says that the phone will have stereo speakers as well as a 3D emoji feature. It's proven to be popular and even led to scads of karaoke-style videos and Apple commercials using Animoji characters singing popular songs. By doing so, Vivo managed to outpace both Apple and Samsung in launching one of the most anticipated smartphone features in recent times. Phone Arena believes that the feature might officially be called "3D Stickers".

But as a smartphone package, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is one of the best in the market - you won't regret your choice if you pick up this phone.

The next step for the fingerprint sensor was to embed it under the display, and we've heard a number of reports suggesting that was the move Samsung was taking. Facial expressions were one of Samsung's biggest issues with emoji, as some like the "grimacing face" looked nothing like the same emoji from the likes of Google, Apple, and others. This would be a change from the Galaxy S8, which has speakers beneath the screen.

A torrent of leaks and rumours have emerged ahead of the Galaxy S9's expected unveiling at Mobile World Congress on February 25.

The leak claims the Galaxy S9 will have the ability to make 3D emoticons using the front-facing camera.

This appears to match a recent story from SamMobile - citing "unconfirmed claims", the website said the Galaxy S9/S9 Plus would feature stereo speakers with Dolby Surround and tuned by AKG, the audio brand owned by Samsung.
