Steam Kicks Off New PC Game Sale And Revamps Wishlists

Finally, Valve has remedied one of the original Steam wishlist's more annoying omissions.

Even if you don't feel like loading up on cheap Steam games right now, it's worth popping over to the Lunar New Year Sale to see some cute dogs.

Steam has long shown the discount and price for items on your Wishlist, but there hasn't been a way of sorting or filtering based on discounts. Some of the discounted titles include National Basketball Association 2K18, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, Cuphead, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Okami HD, Tekken 7, Nioh, Pyre, and many more. This can be frustrating when trying to find items during a large Steam sale or to finding purchases at particular prices.

In addition to the visual upgrade, the Wishlist now has a selection of filters that can be applied to its games.

Players can now apply a filter that hides non-discounted games and displays titles that currently only have a price reduction of at least 25 percent, 50 percent, or 75 percent.

Many players have reported that they find a promising game now in Early Access that they want to keep track of, but aren't interested in buying until the game has transitioned to full release.

It's easier to keep track of Early Access titles now as any game currently in development on the list will reflect whether it's still in Early Access or has transitioned to a full release. For instance, players can add Sonic Mania straight into their Steam cart from their wishlist, but to differentiate between Tyranny's different Commander Edition, Overlord Edition, and various bundles, players can click on the "View Details" button to select the edition they want to buy. However, this feature is not available for games with multiple purchase options, such as deluxe or complete editions, in case a user accidentally purchases the wrong package.

As always, Valve is looking for feedback on the new changes as well as suggestions on new features to add for the user experience.
