Alan Pardew 'to remain in charge of West Bromwich Albion'

West Brom boss Alan Pardew says he doesn't have an axe to grind with Chris Brunt after the player's dressing room outburst following the 2-1 home defeat to Huddersfield.

West Brom now sit eight points adrift of safety as a result, and reports suggested that the club were considering sacking Pardew after only four months at the helm.

"I'd be foolish and not a good manager if I didn't listen to those comments and look at them in reflection and come up, hopefully, with some answers for this Saturday".

"I don't think it will be easier to play against West Brom than to play against Arsenal in the next game (after that)", he said.

"If the consequences from this defeat are that I lose my job then that will be what it is", said Pardew.

"I'm employed to be the manager of the football club, I try and put out a team that I think has got a chance of delivering the win".

"It is a process of staying true to your profession and that is what I will do and I hope my players do the same", he added. "I thank them for that, I feel for them more than myself".

"But when the ball does not go in the back of the net it is a bit frustrating and we keep seeing that in an area we have struggled with all year". It's a tough business, we're playing tough teams.

Pardew's future looks certain to be called into question with his side rooted to the foot of the table and his dismal record of one win in 15 games since he took charge in November.

Watford head coach Javi Gracia maintains his team must treat each of their last 10 Premier League games in isolation rather than setting points targets for survival.

The Hornets have climbed to ninth with their top-flight status seemingly secured.

"It leaves us in a hard position, let's be honest".

"We have to take forward the positives of the commitment they showed to me. I want to try and make it function as long as I can".
