Android P could turn your smartphone into a Bluetooth keyboard or mouse

According to the report, Android did not implement support for HID in the Bluetooth stack of the previous Android versions, making it hard for developers to enable the Bluetooth feature through third-party apps. Samsung's DeX dock allows the top-tier Samsung smartphones like the Galaxy S8 and the latest Galaxy S9 to be connected to a computer and used as a trackpad. That patch was committed in December of 2016, however the functionality remained disabled for subsequent Android releases.

Even if you have a Pixel or Pixel 2 smartphone that's able to run Google's first Android P Developer Preview, we strongly suggest that you fight temptation.

Being able to use your Android smartphone as a mouse or keyboard via Bluetooth can make it easier to handle presentations or use it as a wireless media remote control.

The idea that Google would release the first developer preview of its next-generation mobile operating system on Pi Day (March 14 - or 3/14) was a nice one.

With Android P, Google is using softer colors and rounded corners everywhere it can. Only a little is known so far when it comes to the next iteration's feature, of which, two of the biggest once are- an overhauled Material Design interface; a support for atypical display which shall include the display notch. Android P includes a handy menu that tracks recent notifications so you can disallow an app that's been pestering you in just a few taps.

Earlier reports also hinted that Google may allow telecom operators to hide signal strength in settings, and define LTE signal bars.

As of default, the Android OS is capable of supporting the implementation of HID in Bluetooth stack.

However, as you can see from the images above, the Quick Settings menu with Android P has now got a bit more lively, with the icons now showing up with blue color accents.
