Victoria firm AggregateIQ denies connection to Cambridge Analytica's improper Facebook data use

About 20 officials, wearing black jackets with "ICO Enforcement" on them, arrived at the firm's central London offices on Friday evening soon after a High Court judge granted a search warrant sought by the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

"We have been in touch with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) since February 2017, when we hosted its team in our London office to provide total transparency on the data we hold, how we process it, and the legal basis for us processing it".

Brittany Kaiser, a business development director at the company from 2014 until earlier this year, told the Guardian that Cambridge Analytica carried out data-crunching and analysis work for Leave.EU, while publicly denying it was doing so. The data-mining firm faces accusation of lifting the Facebook profiles of more than 50 million users without their permission in order to manipulate elections.

Prasad also triggered a political war of words when he accused the main Opposition Congress party of having links with Cambridge Analytica, the Facebook associate under the scanner.

The ICO had tweeted that the operation was "just one part of a larger investigation into the use of personal data for political purposes and we will now need time to collect and consider the evidence". Judge Leonard told the court he will outline his reasons for granting the application next Tuesday.

Nix was suspended this week following the Facebook revelations and a further media sting in which he boasts about entrapping politicians and secretly operating in elections around the world through shadowy front companies. United States lawmakers on Friday had asked Facebook Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg to come to Congress to explain the cause of the breach.

He continued, noting that "we did not use any GSR data in the work we did in the 2016 U.S. presidential election".

Cambridge Analytica did not immediately respond to Ars' request for comment.

"The company (CA) believed that the data had been obtained in line with Facebook's terms of service and data protection laws", Tayler said. Refuting Wylie's claims the firm stated that it had deleted all the data received from the platform of Facebook, once it knew about how that data was gathered.

"I'm being basically used as a scapegoat by both Facebook and Cambridge Analytica", he said in interviews Wednesday.
