Huawei launches P20 Pro smartphone with triple rear camera

Huawei's P20 series showcases bold new design features, including bezel-less, notched displays, and a triple-lens camera on the P20 Pro.

With f/1.8, f/1.6 and f/2.4 wide aperture to capture details with ideal clarity, the Huawei P20 Pro also includes a brand new Leica lens with 3x optical zoom.

It also features a dedicated ISP and colour temperature sensor for better colour reproduction.

Meanwhile, the Huawei P20 builds on the foundation of its predecessor with an all-new camera featuring a 12MP sensor and a 20MP monochrome sensor, enhancing its ability to capture photos in low-light settings. Speaking of lighting, the P20 has a feature called 3D Portrait Lighting (sounds familiar? yes, it does) that Huawei says lets you take photos with "studio-quality" lighting effects. The line up includes two smartphones - Huawei P20 and P20 Pro. This phone features 5.8-inch FullView IPS LCD display with resolution of 2240 x 1080 pixels and aspect ratio of 18.7:9. Today, the top position of the ranking has changed hands once again with the launch of Huawei P20 and P20 Pro which seemed to leave a good impression among the folks at the renowned image lab.

Like previous Huawei devices the Pro includes plenty of clever image software with Huawei using AI to predict what you are capturing.

The handset runs Huawei's EMUI overlay on top of Android 8.1 Oreo.

This battery can also be refilled to over 50 per cent in 30 minute via quick charge technology although it's worth noting that the P20 Pro can't be charged wirelessly. The wonderful thing about a 40MP sensor is that even if it's cropped to one fifth the size, you're still left with an 8MP photo that can fill a 4K display.

This screen covers nearly the entire front of the phone but Huawei has left a chin at the bottom which allows it to have feature a fingerprint scanner on the front.

We have been hearing about the Huawei P20 for quite some time now, and today, at an event in Paris, Huawei has finally taken the wraps off the Huawei P20.

On the front of the Mate RS is a 6-inch OLED 2K curved screen.

The P20 and P20 Pro both have Huawei's Kirin 970 processor, AI co-processor, 128GB of storage and 4GB or 6GB of memory respectively, but only the P20 Pro is water resistant to IP67 standards. As you can see from the image above, one of the lenses is housed separately from the other two.

I could go on and on with Huawei's special camera features, but it's hard to judge if it's actually useful without using the phone for a few days. The phone itself is crafted from metal and glass, but with a unique look which is available in Black, Midnight Blue, and Pink Gold as well as a very unique Twilight color which will be available in all markets the phone is sold in. The Huawei Mate RS is the ultra-premium headset made in collaboration with Porsche Design.

That third camera sensor - and the tricks that come with it - are only available on the Pro variant of the device. The Huawei Porsche Design Mate RS may be the companys best phone to date! While the Huawei P20 is said to come with a price tag of Euro 649 (roughly Rs. 52,200) for the 4GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant, and the 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage model of the Huawei P20 Pro is said to be available at Euro 899 (roughly Rs. 72,400).
