Lorde Apologizes for Bathtub Post With Whitney Houston Lyric on Instagram

In a since deleted Instagram post, Lorde seemingly made fun of Whitney Houston's death by posting a photo of a bathtub with the caption "And iiii will always love you".

The image remained up for an hour, before Lorde deleted and wrote an apology on her Instagram story.

At the top of the letter, Lorde wrote tiny notes like: "Met Stevie Nicks and nearly cried;" "Jay-Z's hands are really soft;" "Melo 4ever;" and SZA with a crown over her name.

The 21-year-old posted a photo of a marble bath filling up quote Whitney's famous song I Will Always Love You.

She later added a second post saying:"IT IS NOT MY FKN DAY TODAY".

However, in 2012 Whitney was found unconscious submerged in a bathtub and was subsequently pronounced dead following several attempts to resuscitate her.

However, even her apology did not sit well with some social media users.

One of the tweets said that Whitney was a legend and a strong woman.

Earlier this year, Lorde faced criticism on social media for her "glum" expression and "weak a** applause" following Pink's performance at the Grammys.

She also replied to Stephanie Marie, editor of the Australian site SBS Sexuality, who wrote, "I wonder how @selenagomez feels about this".

Lorde was forced to apologise after sharing a photo of a bathtub alongside a Whitney Houston lyric. "What an incredibly ignorant analogy to make @lorde". Such a post was truly disgusting.
