Google announces AI-powered features for Google Photos

"Because it operates in the background, you can write an email like you normally would, and Smart Compose will offer suggestions as you type". Google Photos will recognize the presence of those friends in pictures, and automatically suggest that the user shares those pictures with those specific contacts.

The demo showed how Smart Compose can help with cutting down the time it takes to write an email. If you like what it suggests, all you have to do is hit the tab button to autofill the rest of that sentence and start your next one. It's a step beyond the Smart Reply feature the company introduced previous year. That means that when you're about to email your upstairs neighbor, Gmail might just suggest "Again, I don't want to nag, but I wish you'd do your gymnastics a bit earlier (or far later) than 2AM".

In fact, they don't need to type most of the time.

Smart Compose arrives off the heels of a recent Gmail redesign that includes features like Nudging, Snooze, and others. Since it's context-aware, if it's Friday you'll get "Have a great weekend!" as a suggested closing phrase. From there, you should see Smart Compose auto-populate your messages in the not-too-distant future.

Smart Compose will roll out later this month to all Gmail users.

You might be able to access Smart Compose right this minute.
