TI Arrested Outside His Gated Community

TIP was taken into custody early Wednesday morning when a security guard at his gate community home in Henry County, an Atlanta suburb south of the city. He reportedly lost his key and the guard would not let him enter his gated community, where he lives with wife Tameka "Tiny" Harris.

In 2009, the "Whatever You Like" hitmaker - real name Clifford Harris - was fined on weapons charges and made to community service. He has already been released without bail by the Henry County Police Department.

T.I. said he observed the security guard, Euwan James, sleeping, according to the police report. The guard was sound asleep when Tip arrived at the guardhouse. Police were called and Tip was hauled off to jail and charged with simple assault and public intoxication, even though he never laid a hand on anyone.

At some point during the exchange, T.I. called a friend who drove over and joined in the argument. His lawyer said in a statement he had been "wrongfully" arrested. It took Tip some time to wake up the sleeping guard. His friend was arrested on an outstanding warrant, Channel 2 reported. Tip clearly identified himself and sought entry. Tip was in contact with Tiny' by phone and "Tiny" confirmed that Tip should be let in immediately. "The guard refused entry". Sadow also said the police weren't interested in hearing his client's side of the story when they arrived on the scene and "wrongfully chose to end the situation by arresting" him.

"The guard continued to refuse entry without justification", Sadow said in a statement, referring to T.I.as Tip.

T.I. has since addressed the arrest in an Instagram Live video while celebrating his youngest son Major's 10th birthday, calling it "nonsense" and "small potatoes," adding that God "will deal with the craziness".

The 37-year-old Atlanta native told The Blast website that law enforcement near his home are "white cops in a very white area", and he was promptly arrested after he and a security guard - who is black - had a "very heated debate".
