Leftist hypothesizes about Trump punching Melania

Melania Trump has made her first public appearance in nearly a month at a reception for Gold Star families at the White House on Monday evening.

"Suppose President Trump punched the First Lady in the White House (federal property = federal jurisdiction), then ordered the Secret Service to hide the assault".

The Late Show host Stephen Colbert weighed in on the growing media speculation surrounding First Lady Melania Trump and her disappearance from the public eye.

A spokeswoman for Melania Trump on Monday slammed a "rabid press corps" for speculating about the first lady's health and whereabouts since being hospitalized last month to treat a benign kidney condition.

"She is going to do this job her way", McBride said of Mrs. Trump.

Mrs. Trump was last seen in public on May 10.

However, Grisham confirmed to CNN that Melania would attend the reception for Gold Star families, honoring their family members who died in battle.

The event, a private East Room reception for more than 40 Gold Star military families, was not in and of itself an unusual activity for the first lady of the United States. "She's confident in what she is doing and in her role, and knows the rest is just speculation and nonsense".

Grisham said the Gold Star families' event is important to Mrs. Trump and has been on her calendar for some time. "We're used to our first ladies being out and about".

It's still unclear when the first lady will make an appearance in public.

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said that she has never heard Hagin say that, telling CNN that "I've worked very closely with Joe and it's just not how his mind thinks or the way that he operates".

She has stayed out of public view since returning home on May 19.
