Clippers DeAndre Jordan opts out of contract, becomes free agent

For his career, the Texas A&M product is averaging 9.4 points, 10.7 rebounds and and 1.7 blocks.

Jordan declined the final year on his contract with the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday that would have paid him just over $24 million had he opted in. "Whether it's via free agency, whether it's via a trade, you're constantly looking for ways to improve the roster". At the last moment, the Los Angeles Clippers camped out at Jordan's house, while persuading Jordan to reverse his choice to join the Dallas Mavericks and officially sign a new deal with the franchise.

The 29-year-old has spent all 10 of his National Basketball Association seasons with the Clippers.

Only $2.1 million of Teodosic's $6.3-million contract for 2018-19 is guaranteed.

Dirk Nowitzki, 40, accepted a deal below the standard of most other stars even on the twilight of their careers in 2017, when he signed a one-year deal worth $5 million with a club option for the second year.

All signs are pointing toward Jordan being a Maverick next season, but as we have seen, literally anything is possible.

MAVS BOUND? DeAndre Jordan of the Los Angeles Clippers decides to test the free agency.

It is no surprise that Jordan is attempting to secure a deal with the Mavericks, but the two sides are not allowed to discuss and finalize a deal until July.

That situation still remains as one of the biggest head-scratchers in recent National Basketball Association history, and will live on in infamy for a long time.

There is still work to do for the Mavericks, who finished 24-58 last season, to become a playoff contender in the Western Conference.
