Kevin Spacey escapes charges over sexual assault allegation

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office nixed charges against Kevin Spacey stemming from accusations he sexually assaulted an acquaintance in 1992.

The Los Angeles County district attorney's office has declined to file charges against three actors accused of sexual abuse in the wake of the #MeToo movement.

The allegations against Spacey, who was accused in a West Hollywood assault in 1992, and Seagal, who was implicated in a case dating back to 1993, were beyond the statute of limitations, prosecutors said.

The Spacey case, involving an adult male, was presented to Los Angeles prosecutors in April and had been under review.

The special task force established by Lacey last fall to center on Hollywood allegations first announced on August 9 that they had been handed the file on Seagal and Anderson.

Actor Steven Seagal has had years of accusations levelled at him.

But on Tuesday, the DA dropped the case against the 48-year-old 'because the woman refused to cooperate and there was not enough evidence to go forward, ' the website claimed.

Police in London are investigating six criminal cases against him.

In October, actor Anthony Rapp said that in 1986, when Rapp was 14, Spacey made sexual advances toward him in a hotel room.

The action star was accused earlier this year by two women of sexual assault and rape.

After Rapp made his allegation, Spacey issued a statement saying he did not remember the encounter but apologised for "deeply inappropriate drunken behaviour".

He was also sacked from Netflix's House Of Cards and edited out of Sir Ridley Scott's All The Money In The World.
